If I Can Do it Anyone Can Do it!

Okay that sounds bad. But I am not a party hoster but I did it anyway and it was fun. I really was afraid no one would show up. I told Joanna this on our walk this morning, a neighbor of mine. And she said I needed to call all the people that got invites. And if only one person shows up “then thank them for coming and don’t apologize.” So this afternoon at 4 pm I called nearly everyone on my list and confirmed two people, got a few maybes, and several with other obligations and tons of answering machines. I did not want to call anyone because I felt like I was being a nag. But I told my kids that sometimes, or often, you have to do things you don’t want to do but you need to do it anyway. And I didn’t want to make the calls but I did it anyway. And I am glad I did.
At least I knew my fear of no one coming was irrational because I had two committed. And they did show.
Shelf Reliance is launching their network marketing strategy for there industry leading line of food storage products along with there shelving and other preparedness items. Our neighbors, Chad and Rachel, are very excited and are friends with the VP of marketing. Anyway, Rachel is consultant number 4 and I am consultant #12. Shelf Reliance is currently doing their soft launch. Their official launch happens is Jan 2010. So this is a great opportunity because I know it is going to explode. The product is yummy and superior to anything you can get in the store. Plus they have this awesome auto-ship plan where you budget your money to spend $50 or $100 or $200 a month on the products and they show up right to your door.
Its so unlike me to do anything like this. But I am so glad I am doing it because doing hard things make me grow stronger as a person and refines me.
Now its time to party, party, party. I have got to book some parties so here I go again getting out of my comfort zone. I’ll keep you posted on what’s happening with my progress.
